Childbirth Education Helps You to Have an Empowered Birth
In this one-year anniversary episode, Ashley and I go back to the essential role of childbirth education in reducing fear and improving birth experiences for both parents and babies. Pretty much every episode this year has come back to education, education, education! If you haven’t chosen a class yet, there may be some ideas in here to choose a class fit you a bit better. If you have already taken a childbirth class – this may help you find any missing bits of information that wasn’t covered.
In this show we take a look at the various types of childbirth classes, ranging from natural birth to hospital-based classes, and emphasize the importance of balanced information that includes both natural and medical birth scenarios. Our conversation also highlights the role of partners in the birthing process, the necessity of continuous and current educational materials, and practical tips for selecting the right childbirth course for you.
We also cover the advantages of having homework including breathing and connection exercises. We truly want you to face childbirth with confidence instead of running scared. No matter what type of birth you are envisioning, you can have autonomy in the process and move forward into the unknown. You can do this!
Education helps create a positive birth outcome – no matter if it’s unmedicated, medicated or a cesarean. It’s still your baby’s birth and you have choices along the way.
