Alicia and Gino’s Birth Story
Our first birth story of Season two! Alicia and Gino share their birth story today and dive into the emotional and practical facets of their labor and delivery. These parents took to heart the conscious preparation for their baby’s birth and really invested the time and energy into their relationship during their pregnancy.
We start off with Gino’s take on how Hypnobirthing classes helped him tune into what worries and concerns were internally going on with his wife by the conversations we had as a group. Having the group dynamic to hear what other couples were working through helped them become closer and more baby focused rather than self-focused.
As a nurse practitioner with a heart condition, Alicia recounts her labor experience, highlighting the necessity of cardiac monitoring and her thoughtful decision to opt for an epidural. Gino reflects on his journey as a supportive partner, emphasizing the importance of being able to stay present and engaged. Together they talk about the critical use of communication, advocacy, and setting up unwavering support during labor and the postpartum period.
